Stop Negative Thinking and Embrace Positive Thinking
A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. It projects into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. Whether positive or negative, these thoughts influence our feelings, which often determine how we act or react to a situation. This is where success or failure begins when it comes to a healthier lifestyle.
Let’s start by cutting out “mental fat” – the negative thoughts and emotional baggage we carry around that keep us from being able to shed the physical fat. Doing this will help you add “lean mental muscle” – the positive thoughts we carry to help us push beyond our normal thinking to achieve what may seem impossible and put on lean muscle mass. In order to do this, you will need positive self-talk.
Self–talk refers to the dialogue that goes on inside your head when faced with conflict or challenges that occur in simple day-to-day life. This aspect of yourself has a running commentary about everything you do and it never lets anything go by without a comment, remark or evaluation. What you say to yourself is important and influences your self esteem and confidence in a positive or negative way. Ideally, you should always encourage yourself, after all if you don’t encourage yourself, who will? The world is full of negative people or those who try to put you down, so why add to it by discouraging yourself. If you tell yourself you are a failure, guess what, you will be! If you tell yourself you can’t, guess what again, you can’t. But if you tell yourself you can succeed, then you will have a much improved chance of succeeding. You are the only one who can ultimately stop you.
The ability to choose your emotions are within reach. Start now by practicing positive thinking. It will help you cope with the daily affairs of life, and make it easier to avoid worrying and negative thinking. If you adopt this change of attitude, I promise you will see the bright side of life, become optimistic and expect the best to happen. Also, don’t forget to remind yourself that you’re a worthwhile person in whatever you do, consistently acknowledge that you are making positive changes, and be proud of yourself.
Just as losing weight and getting healthier won't happen overnight, improving your thought process will take time as well. Be patient with yourself and work at it a little bit at a time. It's easy for us to make excuses, but we won’t make that mistake again. Right! After reading this article, nothing can stop you. Right! Now, get to work!!!
